The Global Cannabinoid Research Center Asks, “Is Healthcare at the Breaking Point?”
America has an antibiotic crisis! Pharma companies have reduced production, new antibiotics have been shelved, and antibiotic bankruptcies are on the rise.

The Global Cannabinoid Research Center (GCRC), founded by Mike Robinson, was created to educate consumers and the healthcare industry about the efficacy of cannabinoid medicine. In 2020, Mike added a new mission, new corporations, and patents and trademarks, to deliver non-toxic products based on cannabinoids (from the hemp plant) and terpenes (aromatic chemical compounds). Safe and natural topicals, such as the Forest Bathing line, use cannabis to reduce stress, anxiety, and chronic pain while delivering industrial-strength germ killing. This new generation of products will bridge the gap with mainstream healthcare. Especially as older drugs lose functionality.
America has an antibiotic crisis. Mike Robinson and the GCRC saw the rise of MRSA as just the first sign of the coming collapse. “It’s not hard to figure out. It started with the medical overuse of antibiotics in humans. Then the overuse in our food supply, to grow bigger cattle and poultry. Germs became increasingly resistant to antibiotics. And then, the way insurance reimburses healthcare for antibiotics changed. Pharma companies are reducing the production of many antibiotics, and the development of new antibiotics has been shelved. That caused a string of antibiotic bankruptcies including Melinta Therapeutics, Achaogen, and Aradigm. Many more are expected to follow.”
Mr. Robinson went on to say, “Antibiotics are a cornerstone of mainstream medicine. There is no plan ‘B’. Without effective antibiotics, millions of minor infections will progress to life-threatening emergency-room situations. The healthcare system could easily be overwhelmed. But in the alternative medicine world, there are safe and effective ways to strengthen the immune system. The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is vital to our immunity, and cannabis is vital to ECS. Ironically, the Federal Government’s restrictions have turned cannabinoid medicine into a magic time capsule. A century ago Cannabis was a common and well-respected medicine. Federal regulations put it into hibernation, and it bypassed all of the abuse and misuse of antibiotics, and that time capsule is ready to be opened up again and save our healthcare system.”
According to Mr. Robinson, new products will be based on more than just cannabis. “Everyone knows about the success story of CBD, and it’s even newer cousin CBG. Used together along with other plant constituents they provide the ‘entourage effect’ which means they’re more powerful together than alone. Many don’t realize the Entourage Effect is not limited to cannabis and this is why I’ve ventured out and created Superphyme, a trademarked technology to advance product lines like Forest Bathing with minerals and other healthy elements. My technologies and formulations demonstrate how terpenes, phytonutrients and the botanical compounds in superfoods can be absorbed topically (through the skin) vs. ingested. The powerful combined effect of cannabinoids, terpenes, and minerals is phenomenal. In a world with few effective antibiotics, these natural constituents may be our best alternative to preventing and recovering from illness.”
It looks like the GCRC will have its hands full, and Mike Robinson will have a lot more to say about how we all stay safe and healthy.
