Greenwich, CT (PRUnderground) October 8th, 2019

Overwhelmed and not sure what’s available to you? The healthcare system, especially eldercare, is a complex arena. To help seniors and their families navigate the options and learn about the resources available to them, The Greens at Greenwich in partnership with CareBuilders at Home is offering a free seminar and discussion on Thursday, October 24th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the YMCA of Greenwich (50 East Putnam Ave. in Greenwich, CT)

The seminar, Navigating Health Care for Seniors: How Do I Create and Manage My Team of Medical Professionals, is open to the public. It will address a variety of medical options, such as providers and care management services, living options and how to create a team of medical professionals to provide the best quality of life throughout the aging process. It will explore the pros and cons of the various options and give an opportunity to ask questions to a team of experts.

“Every person and situation is unique. It’s important for seniors to have the knowledge about the most meaningful, comfortable, and affordable quality-of-life plan,” explained Robert Ruotolo, president of the Stamford, CT based CareBuilders, at Home, an in-home care service agency that helps seniors with daily living tasks.

“Healthcare, as we age, means creating a whole team of professionals to best meet our needs. We want to empower seniors with the information they need so that they can put together a supportive medical team,” Maria Scaros, Executive Director, The Greens at Greenwich.

The seminar, followed by an open Q&A forum, will be led by Judah Schuster, LNHA, Director of Operations, CareBuilders at Home, who speaks around the country on the topic of choosing accurate care options. The prominent panel of experts for the event includes:

  • Dr. Stephen Jones, Medical Director and Geriatrician, Yale/New Haven Health Systems
  • Carole Edelman, MSN, Geriatric Nurse Care Manager
  • Maria Scaros, LCAT, Executive Director, The Greens at Greenwich

The seminar is open to the community. Walk-ins are welcome but reservations are encouraged by calling 203-531-5500 or sending email to mscaros@thegreensatgreenwich.com.
