The New App SDS-x Puts Drumming at Your Fingertips

Simple Drum Samples and audiosymmetric today announced SDS-x, a new app for iOS and iPadOS. SDS-x is a drum pad sample player and offers a new way for musicians to play drum sounds on their iPhone or iPad. 

“SDS-x is going to inspire people to create music.  Within seconds of the opening the app you can start tapping out a beat,” says Corey Lofthus, owner at Simple Drum Samples.

“SDS-x is the easiest way to play drum samples live.” says Ryan Robinson, owner at audiosymmetric. “We didn’t see any drum pad apps designed for live use, so we tried to build something that was simple and intuitive, but also powerful enough to use in a performance setting.” 

Features of SDS-x include nine colorful drum pads that you can play on screen or trigger via MIDI, an intuitive mixer for levels and FX sends, and an XY pad to controll FX parameters. Another feature of the app is a drag and drop sample menu that allows you to add your own samples or choose from over 100 sounds from Simple Drum Samples.  SDS-x is also Audiobus 3 and IAA compatibility so you can use SDS-x with other popular iOS hosts and sequencers.
