Ford has recently unveiled what they are calling the most efficient Ford Fiesta van ever. The unveiling took place at the Commercial van show last month; held at the Birmingham NEC.
The new Econetic Fiesta van is to be fitted with a 95PS 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine and under the bonnet contains several fuel saving technologies such as the auto Start-Stop system. Something that Ford really have to shout about is the new Ford Fiesta van’s fuel consumption; only 3.3l/100km (86.5mpg) with extremely low Carbon Dioxide emissions of just 87g/km.
Much like other upcoming new Ford vans such as the Ford Transit custom, a variety of innovations come as standard to help with efficiency and economy, including Shift indicator lighting, Smart Regenerative Charging, Optimised gearing system, Eco Mode, and even lowered suspension.
The Fiesta Econetic will join Ford’s flagship Econetic commercial vehicle across Europe in the upcoming months and already Ford are expecting it to become a big hit with commercial fleet owners, estimating to sell over 350,000 vans per year.
