Cricket is a sport that is incredibly popular the world over, even though you may have rarely, or never, heard of it until now... but it's HUGE. With over a BILLION religiously committed, raving fans internationally... and now through the efforts of Southern California's leading youth cricket advocacy program, this international super-sport is launching into the lives of youth all across the United States in a BIG way.

Southern California Junior Cricket, (SCJC), is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that has played a leading & integral role, in the introduction and promotion of, youth sports and Junior Cricket in Southern California throughout its 17-year history.
As the leading US’s children’s athletics advocates and cricket sponsors and event organizers in the United States have big plans to bring the sportsmanship, pride and positive cultural development and impact of well orchestrated and managed cricket league programs to inner-city neighborhoods and youth in 2019 and beyond.
What Does Southern California Junior Cricket Do?
SCJC works with schools, churches and local civic organizations and introduces cricket to children through “in school and after school” coaching programs which emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and integrity based conduct.
In 2018 – 2019 and beyond SCJC has very simple and straightforward plans for youth cricket awareness in the United States, more specifically, the SCJC strategy is laid out thusly:
• To build on the successes of SCJC’s initial California pilot program of “in-school” cricket coaching programs.
• To follow “in school” cricket awareness introductions with extra-curricular coaching and opportunities for children to practice in a positive, safe and accepting atmosphere.
• To train coaches and teachers to expand “in school and after school” youth cricket programs which are tailored to providing a positive experience for students and youth, while making a positive impact in the local communities of the youth that participate.
• To sponsor, local, national and international cricket sporting events for all age groups of junior cricket players as well as national awards, status, rankings and recognition events and statistics on US and national youth cricket programs.
• To foster international outreach amongst foreign cricket youth organizations and US-based youth cricket organizations in order to sponsor and organize positive international youth relations, learning, and educational opportunities as well as international competition possibilities for US-based youth out amongst the larger international youth cricket community.
As cricket gains in popularity in the united states as well as the world over… 2019 is shaping up to be a year of big moves and big surprises in the international and US-based cricket communities.
Old fans, new fans and players alike are looking forward to a strong expansion of the sport of cricket onto the mainstage of international awareness, and southern california junior cricket will be at the forefront of this evolution… introducing the youth of the United States to the fun, competitive and interesting world of youth cricket.
