PART SCIENCE CHANNEL, PART VELOCITY, PART NAT GEO, PART SPIKE TV…“THIS VS. THAT” IS SCIENCE, FACT AND FUNNY, ALL WRAPPED INTO ONE

thisvsthatIs it faster to board the plane from front to back, back to front or some other way?   Which vehicle type really gets better gas mileage on the highway – a hybrid model or a car with a traditional combustion engine??  Which flotation is better suited to save your life if you survive a plane crash in water, the life vest or the seat cushion?  These and more perplexing questions to life decisions will be answered in the new original online television series, THIS VS. THAT, premiering beginning Monday, June 10, 2013.   (Retail price: $5.49 for six one-hour episodes).

THIS VS. THAT is science, fact and funny, all wrapped into one. Created by 11 time Emmy nominated television executive Jon Hotchkiss, this six-part television series is the unique, commercial free investigative show that uses the cold facts of science, acknowledged experts, dynamic experiments and the simple, unadulterated truth to reveal the answers to life’s most common and vexing dilemmas. THIS VS. THAT is the first independently produced, independently financed original television series, and features six one-hour HD episodes.  The television show has already been showcased in EMMY MAGAZINE, VARIETY and ROCK CENTER WITH BRIAN WILLIAMS.

“Because this show is not subject to mandates from advertisers or a network, THIS VS THAT is able to show you experiments you’d never see anywhere else,” said Jon Hotchkiss, writer, creator and director for THIS VS. THAT.  “That’s why we call it: “TV you can’t see on TV.”

Episodes include basic experiments such as:

** Which flotation is more likely to save your life if you survive a plane crash in water? Life vest vs. seat cushion??

**  Which pet is smarter? It’s Dogs vs. Cats

** Is it faster to board the plane from front to back, back to front or some other way?

** What’s the best way to get through traffic – stay in your lane or weave in and out?

** Which vehicle type really gets better gas mileage on the highway – a hybrid model or a car with a traditional combustion engine??

The series stars Mark DeCarlo (current co-host on “Windy City Live,” the morning show on the ABC Affiliate in Chicago; former host, FX’s “Studs,” voice of Jimmy Neutron’s dad in the children’s animated series, “Jimmy Neutron”); Brad Sherwood  (Co-Star, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”); and Chris Tallman (“Reno: 911,” “The Sarah Silverman Show,” Chocolate News”)  – three friends with an intense curiosity about how the world REALLY works, and now they’ve been given the tools, the money and the access to find out.

THIS VS. THAT was created, directed and written by Emmy nominated television executive Jon Hotchkiss, whose credits also include: “The Truth About Sex,” (Playboy TV), “Invasion of the X-Mas Lights,” (TLC), “My Dad is Better Than Your Dad” (NBC), and “Punkin Chunkin” (Science). Jon also ran the series “Bullshit with Penn & Teller,” and was one of the original writers on “Politically Incorrect.”
