Tom Mitch returns to Shenandoah Valley United as the new Grassroots, Recreation & Challenge Coordinator

Horizons Edge is excited to announce that Tom Mitch has joined the SVU staff as the new Grassroots, Recreation & Challenge Coordinator. Mitch returns to SVU with a wealth of previous experience. Mitch will be ensuring that each recreation and challenge player receives an exceptional experience aligned with their skill level and development goals. He will be working closely with the recreational and challenge coaching staff to strengthen the levels of support in the recreation program.

Mitch’s soccer career boasts positions with the New England FC as the Regional Director of Coaching, Grasshopper FC as the Club Director & Founder, Boston Lightning as the Academy Director, Tufts University Men 1st Assistant, and Northeastern University Men 1st Assistant. Most recently, Mitch worked with SVU as the technical director before taking a brief hiatus and returning in this new position.

Mitch holds a NSCAA Premier Diploma and NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma. Among his accolades, Mitch played for Duke University as a 4-Year Starter winning the 1986 NCAA D1 National Champion.

Mitch is married to Sarah, a teacher at Eastern Mennonite High School, has four children and is a longtime resident of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
