Traverse Bay Farms, a cornerstone of the Elk Rapids community, is saddened to announce the mysterious disappearance of “Happy the Dwarf” from its longstanding display of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at 204 River Street. The beloved figurine was noted missing shortly after the conclusion of Harbor Days.

For over two years, children and adults alike have delighted in the meticulously restored concrete figures. Thanks to the combined efforts of Art Rapids and the seniors of the Elk Rapids high school art department, the display has become an iconic part of downtown Elk Rapids, drawing visitors and symbolizing community pride.

“Our primary concern is preserving the joy and magic these figurines bring to our community,” stated Andy LaPointe from Traverse Bay Farms. “The absence of Happy disrupts the harmony of the scene and dims the spirit of unity and effort that went into this project.”

Traverse Bay Farms wishes to remind everyone of the rich history of this display. From the acquisition by Art Rapids to the tireless efforts of local volunteers and art students, the display epitomizes the heart and soul of Elk Rapids.

In light of this unfortunate event, Traverse Bay Farms issues an appeal to the person or persons responsible for Happy’s disappearance. “Please consider the broader impact of this act,” Mr. LaPointe urged. “Returning Happy will bring joy not just to our organization but to countless visitors and residents.”

In a show of community spirit, Traverse Bay Farms declares that should the figurine be returned, no questions will be asked. This same sentiment echoes with many in Elk Rapids, hoping for the swift and safe return of the cherished character.
