STChealth proudly displayed its vaccine intelligence at the HIMSS22 Interoperability Showcase by demonstrating how vaccination data is shared between systems.

Phoenix, AZ (PRUnderground) March 29th, 2022

From March 14-18, Vaccine Intelligence™ leader STChealth presented at the 2022 rendition of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s (HIMSS) annual conference—a.k.a. HIMSS Interoperability Showcase.

As an expert in secure, solutions-focused immunization technology and interoperability (the electronic sharing of immunization information between organizations and consumers), STChealth’s presentations focused on the importance of interoperability between health systems and how good data quality and data completeness is essential or ensuring information transferred between medical systems accurately completes the cumulative patient record.

“This importance has been brought to the forefront over the past couple of years, as often, individuals need accurate and complete information regarding their COVID-19 vaccines to enter large events or engage in travel, especially international travel,” said Ashley McDonald, Senior Director of Consulting at STChealth. “The more complete and accurate the medical information is for the individual, the fewer complications they incur when providing verification of their vaccine status.”

Proof of vaccination status can be provided by STChealth’s MyIR Mobile application, which provides individuals continuous access to their complete vaccination record, informs them of needed future vaccines and provides confirmation of their COVID-19 vaccination status.

STChealth’s Product Manager, Sarah McKee, also took part in the HIMSS Chronic Diabetic Care Management session alongside Cerner, Netsmart, brighttree by ResMed and Matrix Care by ResMed.

“We looked at how interoperable data standards enable access to a patient’s past care information.” McKee shared.  “From the emergency room to the care manager, receiving home medical equipment, access to individualized home health services and the ability to access the patient’s immunization/COVID-19 status is essential.”

Vaccines are an integral part of chronic diabetic care management, and as such, this topic is closely aligned with STChealth’s mission to mobilize data for a healthier future for all.

Mike Popovich, CEO of STChealth, noted what a wonderful opportunity partnering with HIMSS was “…to demonstrate both the ability to retrieve data easily from public health as well as how to share this patient information through interoperable and unique health systems.”

He added this final thought: “Patient healthcare data is everywhere. If you can take one common record that most of us have—an immunization record—and share it with your provider network, you have created the foundation for sharing disease prevention healthcare information across your community.”
