Vocation Awareness Week: Franciscan Sisters Offer Online and In Person Discernment Resources.

Industry: Events

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity invite single Catholic Women 20-35 to explore vocation resources developed thru retreats and interaction with discerning women.

Green Bay, WI (PRUnderground) November 8th, 2021

Among the practical resources are the documentary “Sr Pamela Catherine’s Discernment Journey” that follows a young woman through seven years of discernment and formation: from her first discernment retreat through postulancy, novitiate, temporary and final vows. Sr. Pamela Catherine Peasel OSF currently serves at St Peter Mission School in the Diocese of Phoenix.

The Sisters own “Beauty of Religious Life” series produced by Sr. Cecilia Joy Kugel OSF offers stirring, candid and deep reflection on the challenge and joy of living consecrated life as a vowed religious. Visit the Sisters youtube channel:

A special retreat experience or vocation visit can be an insightful and inspiring step forward, moving from discernment to action. Questions about Franciscan Consecrated Life are most welcome. Continuous Vocation Events include:

Career or Calling: young adult women are at a decisive time of life. Our Sisters respect the life experiences and gifts of those with professional responsibilities and educational goals. Talents and background in a variety of areas, from social services to health care to education to IT skills may be part of God’s plan in a Franciscan ministry.

Phone Conversation:  As you take time for quiet and personal prayer, we are here willing to listen, and offer you the opportunity of talking to a trained spiritual director.

Design Your Own Convent Visit: You are welcome to visit us at our Wisconsin Motherhouse or one of our convents in various U.S. dioceses for a portion of a day or a few days. Witness our Franciscan Spirit firsthand. You can meet sisters in Initial Formation, and Sisters who have lived our Franciscan vocation for decades.

Fall and Winter 2021: Join us for an Icon Retreat. Each retreatant  chooses a special saint and pray with that holy one of God for the weekend as the icon is written.

Called to Franciscan Advent Evening: Discerning young women are invited to a virtual Advent Pilgrimage to Greccio, Italy, the cradle of Franciscan awareness of the Incarnation and known to Franciscans as the Franciscan Bethlehem.

Called to Pray with Saints Francis and Clare: a Franciscan-focused virtual retreat, a conference each evening and individual spiritual direction. Discern how God is working in you and calling you.
