The indie trio ‘Voyce Memos’ is about to release their first single “Annotate” from their sophomore album.
Richard Borger, Stephen Mokulis, and Akash Gupta have come a long way since the early days of their casual jam sessions. Now preparing to release their second album together, fans won’t have to wait much longer for a taste of their latest creation. “Annotate” explores how two people can feel differently within a relationship and how one side could conceivably overwhelm the other with their infatuation.
“Annotate” weaves its way through a familiar subject matter with a danceable beat and a funky bass line. Voyce Memos sets their own unique atmosphere with their layered vocals and skillful melding of genres.
Before getting together with Stephen Mokulis and Akash Gupta, Richard Borger worked briefly as a solo artist. Once the trio met, they started out getting together at the end of their work days (and now school days for Akash who goes to Harvard Business School). Voyce Memos pulled influence from various indie, EDM, and rock artists such as Tame Impala, ZHU, and Grizzly Bear to steer their jam sessions, eventually turning it into a sound all their own. Their first album “Catching Me In Stride” received positive reviews and has garnered nearly 100 thousand streams on Spotify.

Voyce Memos is an indie group comprised of Richard Borger, Stephen Mokulis, and Akash Gupta. The Houston, Texas based group started out playing together casually after work. As their jam sessions became more frequent, the covers of songs they were playing by their indie counterparts turned into a unique sound all their own. This ultimately resulted in the release of their first album “Catching Me In Stride”.
