With Coronavirus Worries Running High, Whiz Kid Academy Online Pre-K Helps Families Stay Safe
Distance Learning Program Partners With Parents to Prioritize Safety and Education for Preschoolers
Rockville, MD (PRUnderground) July 13th, 2020
Rising coronavirus cases around the country have school districts nationwide still unsure about the logistics of the upcoming school year. This uncertainty has more and more parents exploring their options for the fall. While much focus is put on grades K-12, what safe plans can be made for the little learners slated to attend Pre-K this school year?
Heather Hastick, a Pre-K teacher and mom of three, recently saw firsthand how distance learning impacted her youngest daughter who is a soon-to-be kindergartner. During much of the spring semester, Hastick balanced teaching classes online while also overseeing her three daughters’ virtual education.
“Students in Pre-K thrive with a lot of support,” she says, sparking her realization that parents would benefit from a fully-guided online Pre-K program to help children excel and stay safe in these uncertain times. As an educator of 18 years, Hastick got to work.
To respond to the growing need, on August 17, 2020, Heather Hastick will welcome young learners into her virtual classroom by launching Whiz Kid Academy, an online, teacher-led Pre-K program designed to help children grow in reading, writing, math, science and motor skills. Using an award-winning curriculum, Hastick will offer live classes and on-demand video content that will guide children to develop the core skills necessary for kindergarten readiness.
“Though Pre-K isn’t required, it is irreplaceable,” says Hastick. “Once upon a time, it was normal for a child to enter kindergarten with very little skills, but times have changed. Children are now expected to read at a younger age, and knowing sight words, letter sounds, numbers, and other basics earlier on will help them thrive in kindergarten and in the years to come.”
Each online academy Pre-K lesson is led by an experienced, professional educator, providing essential instruction for a full school year. Flexible class options provide a fun, customized Pre-K solution that fits both a child’s personality and a parent’s busy schedule, all at a fraction of the cost of in-person preschool programs.
“As a mom, I know that juggling parenting, work and other responsibilities is always challenging. However, through Whiz Kid Academy, I’m here to partner with parents to ensure that their children are building a strong educational foundation for their future. Our program guarantees that,” says Hastick.
