Writing education company Now Novel today announced the launch of How to Publish and Promo Your Novel, a new, five-month course for writers looking to publish the traditional or indie route.
Brendan McNulty, Now Novel founder, commented: ‘Shakespeare apparently wrote King Lear while in quarantine from the bubonic plague. While many people watched a lot of Netflix over the past two years, others focused on writing a book whilst locked down. Our alumni and community members identify having minimal publishing knowledge as a key challenge in their author journey. This course covers everything from the basics of how publishing works to guidance on writing submission materials, Kindle publishing and more and was developed in consultation with USA Today bestselling authors and experienced writing coaches.’
The commercial fiction wing of HarperCollins reported a threefold increase in people submitting directly to them (without an agent) in the months following the first lockdown. At Now Novel we reported a 43% increase in visitors to the website during lockdown. Now that lockdowns are easing, many people are wondering what to do with their completed manuscripts.
