Andrew Chong UIUC student is of the opinion that solo sports introduce a sense of responsibility within payers because both, success and failure are influenced by a single player’s performance.

Andrew Chong UIUC student born in Seoul, Korea, moved to Shanghai, China due to his father had an expat assignment. While in Shanghai, he developed an interest in sports when he was just eight years old. Thorough he had to keep moving because of his father’s job and was unable to pursue any particular hobby for a long time, when they settled in Shanghai, however, Andrew Chong UIUC student fell in love with tennis and continues to pursue it as a career and a hobby to this day.

Andrew Chong UIUC student was a sports enthusiast right from his childhood. He proactively played soccer, baseball, and other outdoor games, but eventually developed a profound interest in tennis. Andrew Chong UIUC student is of the opinion that solo sports introduce a sense of responsibility within payers because both, success and failure are influenced by a single player’s performance. To him, the fact that you get to play a prolonged game against a single opponent makes tennis more personal than other similar sports.

After deciding to take his hobby to a competitive level, Andrew Chong UIUC student participated in many tournaments, both in Shanghai and later in the U.S. He attended the Stanford Nike Tennis Camp and was an integral part of the High School Tennis Team throughout his studies. Later on, in college, Andrew Chong UIUC student joined the UIUC’s Club Tennis Team and connected with a few inspirational people, who are still his friends.

Joining the club allowed him to practice his game at a higher level, which is something he always wanted to do. All the higher-ranking members of the club get the chance to compete at tournaments, and Andrew Chong UIUC student used the golden opportunity to showcase his skills on a much larger platform. These competitions afforded him to travel extensively around the world for the preparations and the tournaments themselves. Some of the competitions and tournaments he participated in include Indiana and Wisconsin at Uni Notre Dame and Uni Wisconsin Whitewater, respectively.

Andrew Chong UIUC student found the problem-solving aspect of Tennis as a most appealing characteristic. In the case of misjudgment, sports also afford you second chances to prove your strengths once again and take the trophy home. As the responsibility of success and failure is bestowed on the shoulders of a singer player, it brings home unexceptional levels of happiness after outwitting the opponent. Being a fitness enthusiast, he is consistent with his religious workout sessions even during these uncertain times. Having his body in good shape provides him with an advantage over the opponent and enhances his performance.

Andrew Chong UIUC student invests his belief in the philosophy that considers mental fortitude and perseverance as the foundational values of any great work to come into reality. He also perceives failure as the greatest educator in his sports career.

Everything you accomplish is the result of your work, and every player’s personality shines through. Andrew Chong UIUC student saw an opportunity for self-expression in tennis, and it left a profound impact on his life, shaping his core ideals.

Andrew Chong UIUC spent most of his childhood in the U.S. before having to move to Shangai with his family. In China, Andrew picked up many of his favorite hobbies like cello and tennis, which he still cherishes years later.
