Children’s Book Author Natori Blue Releases Calib and Quaran-Teen, About The COVID-19 Pandemic

Industry: Books

Austin, TX (PRUnderground) September 22nd, 2020

Children’s book author Natori Blue has just released Calib and Quaran-Teen, an inviting picture book that cleverly addresses the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on many children around the world. In this unique moment in time when schools are closed, playdates are banned, parents can’t go back to work, and people are dying from this virus, the story offers a message of hope through a rhythmic tale of unassuming super heroes.

Calib and Quaran-Teen is a poetic picture book complete at 32 pages. Quaran-Teen, a teenage supervillain, has put a wrench in the life that young Calib has considered “normal” for so long, and someone must do something about it!

Blue says she was inspired to write the story when she was unable to find literature to guide her own children in coping with the COVID-19 lockdown. “My children wanted to know what was happening in their worlds, and this is a way to explain it to them in a way they could understand,” she says.

Calib and Quaran-Teen has attracted more than 52,000 views online. Blue says even though the targeted age range is children between 5 and 16, the responses are coming in from both children and adults. “As a school teacher of twelve years, I have seen such books capture children’s hearts as their silly and intriguing characters carry out very relevant themes,” she says, “fostering the perfect little epiphany moments for young readers (and old ones).”

Blue earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from The University of Texas at Austin. She works as a reading, English, and language arts educator.
