Throughout her 25 years of practice, she has accrued extensive expertise in Interventional Radiology in procedures such as angioplasty/stent placement, arterial and venous thrombolysis, uterine fibroid embolization, infusaport placement, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, percutaneous hepatic cholangiograms/stent placement, vertebral augmentation, percutaneous biopsies and drainages, arthrography, steroid joint injections, stereotactic and ultrasound guided breast interventions. She is also a Diagnostic Radiologist evaluating x-rays, fluoroscopy, ultrasounds, CT scans, Nuclear medicine images and MRI.

A successful career began with a medical degree in 1988 from the University of Medical Sciences Center (UAMS).  Shen then continued her postdoctoral training in General Surgery and a clinical Transitional internship at UAMS.  Dr. Long then completed a Radiology Research Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at UAMS with special emphasis on biliary tract disease.  She completed her Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and her Interventional Radiology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Cynthia A. Long is Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology with a dual certificate in Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR).  To stay abreast of the latest developments in her field she maintains professional memberships with the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Radiology, Texas Radiological Society, Tarrant County Medical Society, American Medical Association and Texas Medical Association.
