Day four of Russian Fashion Week (October 18)
The fourth day of MBFW Russia brought us collections from the UK and US, and also younger designers like MAD DAISY MOSCOW and ZA_ZA, with PIROSMANI rounding up the roster for a perfect mix of avant-garde and classical fashion.

PRESENTATION | SNIFF
The brand of Elizabeth Davydova , which started as project was filled with irony and nostalgia about Moscow rave culture of 2010s, gradually turned into the platform for the interaction of the new generation underground and its influencers, modern hip-hop culture and street fashion.
FUTURA is a collaboration with the famous instabloger Diana Melison and rapper Cherocky, which brand presented at MBFW Russia.
GLOBAL TALENTS: LINUS LEONARDSSON (UK)
Currently based in London, Linus Leonardsson is a Master graduate from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. In his own words, his work centers around the combination of fun and glamour with important social issues – first and foremost the demolition of gender expectations within fashion, and a push towards a fully sustainable industry. glo brand, supporting Global Talents.
The collection is inspired by the fusion of East and West. The hero of the show is a traveller, an archaeologist who explores the world, getting into different weather conditions. Clear geometric shapes make the look strict, but it’s softened with lightweight fabrics, prints and color palette. Delicate pastel shades and a play with proportions transform classic items of man’s wardrobe into a new, modern “classic”.
MAD DAISY MOSCOW
Russian fashion label MAD DAISY MOSCOW presented new SS20 collection designed in collaborative partnership with the State Tretyakov Gallery in support of women suffering from alopecia.
EXPATS COLLECTIVE (USA – Russia)
This season EXPATS collaborated with VOID, a Russian footwear start-up company that uses 3D equipment to craft the most comfortable and bespoke pair of EXPATSxVOID concept boots. Their debut collection, Spring/Summer 2020, is inspired by Polenitsa, the Romanov dynasty and the October Communist Revolution.
PRESENTATION | OTOCYON
Lesya Rusakovich, the brand designer, offers to consider clothing as an object that should be contemplated and felt. Somber color pallet and soft silhouettes contributed into the necessary spirit.
ZA_ZA is the brainchild of Alexandra Koryakina, notoriously avant-garde, stating its mission as “bringing something unexplainable to an explained world”.
A collection straight out of a Francis Bacon masterpiece and a perfect one for a dark and cold Winter. The show was participated by models of elegant age.
Fashion beyond a Firewall: Spring/Summer 2020 collection of the Russian brand RED SEPTEMBER. How would our lives change if we were disconnected from the World Wide Web? Can restrictions and controls bring people together instead of dividing them into factions? The Red September Spring/Summer 2020 Collection addressed these questions.
The concept ANTIPODIUM: “no fashion, no trends, no season” is the basis of the fashion house. The brand Pirosmani is proud to have freedom from such conventions as seasonality or following trends, because each model is consistently recognizable and always relevant.
