“You were with him for a long time. You need to tell the story! You need to tell the real story about my son!” Inspired by these words from Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, former manager, confidant, and personal friend Dieter Wiesner’s newly released book, “Michael Jackson: The Real Story,” has taken up this brave challenge and does just that.

Clearly influenced by a sense of obligation, Mr. Wiesner shares intimate information about Michael Jackson. The man he knew as a visionary business genius, a loving father who always cared about family and his close friends. And who has often been unfairly portrayed in ways to make headlines that seemed far removed from the truth about Michael, an inspiration, still, to millions.

“Michael was very close to me and I feel like his true story from someone who was there needs to be told,” commented Wiesner. “His memory, his legacy, and his dear family all deserve to hear the perspective of someone who was around him so often and who he trusted within his inner circle.”

The book’s author, Dieter Wiesner was inseparable from Michael during the 80-concert, five continent HIStory world tour. So close, to the point, when they drove to concerts, Dieter was even in Michael’s car. When they were at concerts, Dieter was backstage. After the show, Dieter was with him in the hotel room. While crisscrossing the world together, the two became very close, discussing everything from business to life and Wiesner was able to see just what a special and caring, once in a lifetime, human being Michael was. After the tour, Dieter lived with Michael and his children for several years at the legendary Neverland Ranch. So his perspective is one that hardly anyone could match, if anyone at all.

What sets this publication apart from the large amount of other Michael Jackson narratives available, in both its content and delivery, are the primary source documents which include over fifteen voicemail messages, that at the click of a button, readers will be able to listen to Michael Jackson’s voice as he leaves detailed messages about a variety of topics, including his top-secret intentions, plans, and vision for the second phase of his life.

In one voicemail message Michael can be heard saying, “This is Michael Jackson calling. When you get this message call me immediately. What I want to talk to you about is very top-top secret! I need a German or a Swiss bank, I want to raise a billion dollars with a Swiss or German bank, but you got to keep this completely confidential! It’s an incredible acquisition I want to make.” When these calls are considered the loss of Michael can truly be put into the proper context of what his plans could have meant to both popular culture and the world had he lived a longer life.

Had Michael Jackson been left alone to execute the visionary purchases and partnerships he desired, including Marvel Comics and Disney among others, he would have undoubtedly been one of the wealthiest people in the world.

In another voicemail message, Michael shares more details about his prophetic plans, “If I can promise them that Stan Lee will join us, the original, most prolific animator in cartoon-design-artist of this century. He agreed that if we do this, he will come back again and create new characters…See what we can do at our press conference. It would be Michael Jackson, Spiderman, and Stan Lee. We’ll all stand there and announce the new Marvel 2000…We want to do the most cutting edge films, the most cutting edge visual effects, and just do amazing things…” The thought of this for those who understand what the power of Marvel coming together with Michael could have meant is jaw-dropping.

In addition to insight into Mr. Jackson’s business vision, Mr. Wiesner provides practical examples of how deep Michael’s longing was to be a normal person.

In an enlightening story about Michael and Dieter sneaking out of Neverland Ranch without their security detail Wiesner writes, “Our excursion brought him such delight, for once to be free from his isolation, escape from his cage of fame and glory…Michael was able to buy almost anything he desired but showed on that day how he could be satisfied by something so small — being able to sit for two hours in a quiet parking lot and eat a couple of dollars’ worth of pizza and wings and drink a few cups of soda — far removed from time and space and detached from the creation he otherwise had become.” Some would point to this aspect of Michael’s personality, few witnessed, as perhaps the secret of how he could make such moving music for such a long period of time. His authenticity and caring heart as a human being, who truly wanted to make the world a better place, not just chase wealth and material things.

Readers of “Michael Jackson: The Real Story” will get to know Michael Jackson the human being in a much deeper way — the Michael that few got to know and appreciate. “Michael Jackson: The Real Story” is currently available for pre-order and will be released on Apple Books beginning February 20, 2020 for $29.95.

Needless to say the excitement surrounding the release is skyrocketing.
