Reign Bow Ties Announces Launch Of Fall Collection

Reign Bow Ties is announcing the launch of its fall collection, following a rebranding to offer a new, expanded selection of high-quality bow ties, new manufacturing structure to handle wholesale orders, and new vision for what Reign Bow Ties can become.
Owner Will Murphy says his original vision when he launched the neckwear brand at the age of 17 was to have one bow tie to match every outfit in his wardrobe. After injuring his foot in a pickup basketball game and being stuck in the house for the summer, Murphy asked his mother, a former seamstress, to teach him how to sew. He says, “The first bow tie I ever made was made of spare fabric from an old shirt, my mom’s hair clips, and hot glue.”
The first iteration of Reign Bow Ties generated over $10,000 in revenue. Murphy and his mother worked from their home to produce every bow tie made-to-order. After several years, wholesale inquiries were coming in, and Murphy realized it was time to restructure. The made-to-order model just wasn’t sustainable for the direction they were heading. He wanted the business to grow and realized couldn’t do this without being able to fulfill orders for other businesses.
“Now we work with manufacturers and vendors, which helps us keep inventory on hand, and offer faster shipping – typically two business days from placing the order,” he says. For wholesale orders more than 49 units, the lead time is approximately eight weeks.
Murphy knows the effect his bow ties have on men. “The bow tie puts confidence in them,” he says, “I can see it when they put one on. They just feel good about themselves and how they look.”
Additionally, Murphy says the bow ties tell a story. “They symbolize something different about each person wearing them, because everyone has a unique story,” he says, “Furthermore, we’re looking to inspire our audience and give them new ideas through our products, blog, and content.”
The larger vision is to leverage Reign Bow Ties as a platform to spread positivity, collaborate with influencers, and speak about entrepreneurship to youth across Michigan.
