Rudholm Group USA Opens New Las Vegas Factory to Usher in a New Era of Sustainable Business Practices

Industry: Environment

The Privately Owned Scandinavian Group is changing the face of sustainability with its WeCare® Circular Program - a fully circular economy for both brand partners and RHG

Las Vegas, NV (PRUnderground) April 26th, 2023

It is commonly understood that the apparel and textile industry is responsible for a large portion of the world’s pollution, landfill waste, and greenhouse gas emissions. However, one company is on a mission to usher in a new era of sustainable business practices throughout the industry, both in the United States and Worldwide. Rudholm Group USA is proud to announce the opening of its newest Las Vegas-based factory to print, convert, and distribute flexible packaging, including custom-printed recycled LDPE poly bags and poly mailers.

The Las Vegas factory is the third US location for the Scandinavian Group, creating immeasurable opportunities for impact on products, people, and the planet. By leveraging cutting-edge digital printing technology and high-performance water-based inks, Rudholm Group USA is now able to print edge-to-edge on flexible film of widths of up to 100″ — a complete game-changer for the industry.

Furthermore, Rudholm Group USA President Dennis Lau has championed the WeCare® Circular Program to change the face of post-e-commerce throughout the United States. This program allows apparel brands to collect and return poly bags and poly mailers from customer returns at distribution centers and retail stores. Rudholm Group USA then collects these materials, recycles them, and creates a new product out of the resins. In doing this, Rudholm Group USA is working hand-in-hand with customers to create a circular economy for the betterment of people and the planet.

While Rudholm Group does manufacture paper and plastic products, it believes in a balanced approach between the two as paper is not always the better option for the environment. Contrary to popular belief, paper requires more water usage and has more emissions during the production and transportation stages than plastic as the weight of paper exceeds the weight of plastic by far.

Additionally, Rudholm Group USA has partnered with Change Plastic For Good ®, a North American sustainability company who has a patented biotechnology that addresses plastic’s end of life. It is proven through robust data and is tested by Intertek based on the ASTMD5511, ASTM D5988 and ASTM D6691 standards.

The organic BDP® polymer is added to Rudholm Group’s recycled LDPE during the blow film extrusion process and accelerates natural decomposition in case the product escapes recycling streams and end up in landfill or the environment. What used to take centuries, now takes a few years to naturally decompose as BDP® attracts microbes to consume the plastic.

Through proof of concept, dedication to innovation, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of the planet, the Rudholm Group’s purpose-driven vision has come to fruition.
