Splash Rite Swim School is announcing Pang the Penguin presents The First Splish Splash is now available on Amazon.com.

The First Splish Splash Book One: Water Safety and Pool Adventure Series ranked #1 the first week on Amazon, and has already garnered hundreds of positive reviews. One reviewer says, “Very educational book! Love it!” Another says, “I love the principles of this! So amazing! So delightful! A fabulous book for teaching children.”

The First Splish Splash is an inspirational book that encourages children to follow their dreams. The story encourages them to help overcome their fear and anxiety when trying something new.

Author Lotta Todd says the story centers on Langston, who had a dream of winning the swimming championship. He shares his dream with his parents and water safety friend, Pang the Penguin. His dad replies he can make his dream true, but he has to learn to swim first.

Pang the Penguin tells Langston about the benefits of swimming and how fun it is. But Langston needs the courage to take the first step towards his dream. “This book allows readers to follow Langston on his real-life swimming adventure to learn about swimming gear and safety rules,” one reviewer says, “and it features beautiful illustrations that help children to understand the story through the pictures themselves.”

In The First Splish Splash readers of all ages can learn and apply the information. Todd says the core message to kids is to stay safe in and around water as the highest drowning rate occurs between the ages of 1 to 9 years old and it’s the leading cause of death for children ages 1 – 4. Todd adds that African-Americans are 5.5 times more likely to drown than other nationalities.

This series encourages water safety and swim lessons for everyone in a fun and safe environment. One reviewer says, “This is so important! It doesn’t get taught enough.”

Todd wrote the book based on her 20 years of experience as a swim instructor, lifeguard, and coach who has taught 3,000 students. She is also a Certified Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) and member of the National Drowning Prevention Alliance and Drowning Prevention Coalition in Arizona. She volunteers for Phoenix Children’s Hospital, in addition to partnering with Pool Safely and several retailers in the Phoenix area to promote water safety awareness and swim lessons for everyone.
